Hawker 900XP

The Hawker 900XP is the last and best of the Hawker midsize line, and from Los Angeles it is the one that finally makes the transcontinental leg routine. Same eight-seat flat-floor cabin, new engines, 2,930 nautical miles of range.

Hawker Beechcraft re-engined the 850XP with Honeywell TFE731-50R turbofans to create the 900XP, keeping the winglets and the cabin while adding range and hot-and-high performance. Eight to nine seats, 452 knots and 2,930 nautical miles. Every Hawker 900XP we arrange flies with an operator certificated under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Hawker 900XP Fits Los Angeles

Four hundred extra nautical miles over the 850XP is what changes the map. Los Angeles to New York or Los Angeles to Miami becomes a realistic nonstop with a working payload rather than a light-payload calculation, and on the westbound return against the winds the margin is what keeps the stop out of the plan.

The newer engines also improve hot-and-high departures, which matters more in Southern California than clients expect. A fully fueled transcontinental departure from Van Nuys on a hot August afternoon asks a lot of a midsize jet.

This is the aircraft to compare directly against a Citation Sovereign or a Challenger 300 in the super-midsize category. The Hawker usually wins on price and loses on cabin width, and on a five-hour leg that is a decision worth making deliberately.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Hawker 900XP run $5,000 to $6,500 per hour as of 7/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

The 900XP quotes at the top of the midsize band, and on a Los Angeles transcontinental trip the fuel stop it avoids is normally worth more than the hourly premium over an 850XP.
