The Learjet 60 is the fast midsize jet in the Los Angeles market and the one that best justifies the name. Seven or eight seats, 454 knots, 2,405 nautical miles, and a climb rate that gets it above the traffic quickly out of a busy basin.
Bombardier built the Learjet 60 with Pratt and Whitney PW305A engines on a stretched Learjet 55 fuselage, adding a delta-fin tail. Seven to eight seats, 454 knots and 2,405 nautical miles of range. The 60XR added an updated cabin and flight deck.

Why the Learjet 60 Fits Los Angeles
The climb performance is a genuine Los Angeles benefit rather than a specification-sheet line. Departing into some of the busiest controlled airspace in the country, an aircraft that reaches cruising altitude quickly spends less time in the low-level queue and burns less getting there.
At 2,405 nautical miles it will make the East Coast from Los Angeles with a light payload, and Chicago, Dallas and the Gulf with a full one. The westbound return against prevailing winds is the leg that decides whether a stop goes into the plan, and the operator runs that for the actual date.
The Learjet cabin is the trade, as ever. It is stand-up and comfortable for seven, but narrower than a Hawker, and clients moving down from a Challenger 300 notice. For a fast Los Angeles business day it is the right aircraft; for a five-hour family trip it usually is not.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
