Bell Jet Ranger

The Bell Jet Ranger is the least expensive aircraft Los Angeles Private Jets arranges with rotors, and for two or three passengers on a short transfer that is exactly the right tool. Four seats, 113 knots, and a design that has been flying since the 1960s.

Bell produced the 206 Jet Ranger from 1967 with a single Allison turbine and a two-blade main rotor. Four seats, 113 knots and roughly 374 nautical miles of range. It is among the most-produced turbine helicopters ever built, and the charter fleet reflects that.

Why the Bell Jet Ranger Fits Los Angeles

Short and cheap is the specification. A Beverly Hills or Malibu transfer into Van Nuys, a hop across the basin to John Wayne, a coastal leg up to Camarillo: journeys where the flight is fifteen or twenty minutes and the alternative is an hour and a half of freeway.

Four seats means three passengers and a pilot in practice, with luggage that needs thinking about. For a group with bags heading to a jet, the Long Ranger or the 407 is the aircraft that actually works.

The two-blade rotor is older technology and it is more noticeable in the cabin than the four-blade systems on newer helicopters. On a fifteen-minute leg most clients do not mind. On an hour along the coast they do.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
