The Hawker 400XP is the light jet clients ask for by name in Los Angeles when eight seats have to fit and the cabin cannot feel like a tube. Hawker Beechcraft’s square-oval cross-section buys head and shoulder room that the raw dimensions do not convey.
Hawker Beechcraft developed the 400XP from the Beechjet 400A line, keeping the two Pratt and Whitney JT15D-5 turbofans and adding aerodynamic, payload and interior improvements. Seven or eight seats in a center-club layout, a galley, a belted lavatory, a 45,000-foot ceiling and 1,519 nautical miles of range. Every Hawker 400XP we arrange flies with an operator certificated under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Hawker 400XP Fits Los Angeles
That flat floor is the part that matters on a Los Angeles trip with a full cabin. Moving around at altitude on a three-hour leg to Denver or Los Cabos, Mexico is straightforward in a way it is not in most aircraft this size, and the rear baggage hold stays reachable in flight.
The lavatory is a belted seat rather than a fully enclosed compartment in the standard cabin, and that is worth raising before anyone boards. On the short run to Las Vegas, NV nobody notices. On a four-hour leg with a full cabin, guests used to the enclosed lavatory on a CJ3 or a Phenom 300 will.
The 400XP’s earlier names include the Beechcraft Beechjet 400A and the Raytheon Beechjet 400A, so if a quote comes back under one of those it is the same family of airframe rather than an unannounced substitution. We list the Beechjet 400A separately because the fleet data treats them as distinct airframes with distinct numbers.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
