Global 5000

The Global 5000 is the shorter-fuselage member of Bombardier’s Global family and the entry point into the line from Los Angeles. Thirteen to sixteen passengers, 5,200 nautical miles, and the wide flat-floor cabin the Global name is bought for.

Bombardier shortened the Global Express fuselage and refined the wing to create the Global 5000, with two Rolls-Royce BR710 engines. Thirteen to sixteen seats, a cruise around Mach 0.85 and 5,200 nautical miles of range.

Why the Global 5000 Fits Los Angeles

Mach 0.85 is where the Global family separates itself from the Falcons, and over a Pacific or transatlantic leg out of Los Angeles that speed compounds into a shorter day. London, Tokyo and the South American capitals sit at the edge of the 5000’s envelope depending on payload and winds.

The cabin is wider and flatter than a Falcon 7X’s, and for a full load of thirteen or more on a long crossing that width is what clients remember. Bombardier’s cabin altitude and pressurization on this generation also make a genuine difference to how people arrive.

It is the shortest-legged aircraft in this category, which is the honest limit. If the trip is a hard Los Angeles to Asia nonstop with a full cabin, the 6000 or the 5500 is the aircraft to price instead.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
