Gulfstream G500

The Gulfstream G500 is the newest aircraft in the Los Angeles long-range fleet and the one that shows what a clean-sheet Gulfstream looks like now. Thirteen to nineteen passengers, 5,300 nautical miles, and the largest cabin windows of anything on this site.

Gulfstream built the G500 with active control sidesticks, Pratt and Whitney PW814GA engines and the Symmetry flight deck. Thirteen to nineteen seats, a cruise around Mach 0.85 and 5,300 nautical miles of range. Full specifications for the Gulfstream G500 are published by Gulfstream Aerospace.

Why the Gulfstream G500 Fits Los Angeles

The oval windows are not a styling note. There are more of them and they are considerably larger than on the previous Gulfstream generation, and on a daylight Pacific departure out of Los Angeles that is the single change passengers comment on first.

Cabin altitude on this generation is lower than on the aircraft it replaced, which is the reason clients arrive from a long crossing feeling better than the flight time suggests. For a Los Angeles to Asia trip where someone has to work on arrival, that is worth more than a few hundred nautical miles of range.

At 5,300 nautical miles it has less reach than a G550 or a G650, so the hardest Pacific pairings are still a G650 conversation. The G500’s argument is the newest cabin in the category rather than the longest legs in it.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Gulfstream G500 run $11,500 to $14,500 per hour as of 7/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

The Gulfstream G500 quotes mid-band, and on a Los Angeles long-range trip the money buys the current-generation cabin rather than extra range.
