Bombardier Challenger 3500

The Challenger 3500 is the current version of the aircraft above and the newest super midsize jet available in Los Angeles. Nine or ten seats, 470 knots and 3,400 nautical miles, with a cabin Bombardier rebuilt rather than refreshed.

Bombardier updated the Challenger 350 with the Nuage seat, voice-controlled cabin management, a lower cabin altitude and a wireless charging suite to create the 3500, certified in 2022. Nine to ten seats, 470 knots and 3,400 nautical miles of range.

Why the Bombardier Challenger 3500 Fits Los Angeles

The cabin is the whole reason to pay the difference over a Challenger 350. Lower cabin altitude and a genuinely redesigned seat make a five-hour Los Angeles to New York leg noticeably less tiring, which is what a client doing that round trip inside two days is actually buying.

Two hundred extra nautical miles over the 350 is useful rather than transformative from Los Angeles. It buys margin on the westbound return against the winter jet stream more than it opens new destinations.

It entered service in 2022, so the Southern California charter fleet is small and in demand. A Challenger 3500 request during awards season needs more lead time than a 350 or a 300.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Industry hourly rates for the Bombardier Challenger 3500 run $7,000 to $9,000 per hour as of 7/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

The Challenger 3500 quotes at the top of the super midsize band, and the premium over a Challenger 350 buys the cabin rather than the performance.
