Bombardier Challenger 350

The Challenger 350 is the aircraft that took over from the Challenger 300 as the default super midsize jet in Los Angeles, and it is one of the most requested aircraft on this site. Eight to ten seats, 470 knots and 3,200 nautical miles in the widest cabin in its class.

Bombardier improved the Challenger 300 with canted winglets, more thrust from its Honeywell HTF7350 engines and a redesigned interior to create the 350. Eight to ten seats, 470 knots and 3,200 nautical miles of range.

Why the Bombardier Challenger 350 Fits Los Angeles

Cabin width is what clients are buying and the 350 keeps the 300’s advantage over a Citation X or a Learjet 60. On a five-hour Los Angeles to East Coast leg with eight passengers, that width is the entire difference in how the day feels on arrival.

The winglets improve climb and cruise over the 300, so the aircraft gets out of the busy Southern California low-level airspace faster and burns less doing it. On the transcontinental return against winter winds that margin is what keeps the fuel stop out of the plan.

Fleet depth is the practical argument. When awards season between January and March strips Van Nuys of options in this category, the Challenger 300 and 350 are usually the aircraft still showing genuine availability.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Bombardier Challenger 350 run $6,500 to $8,500 per hour as of 7/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

The Challenger 350 quotes above the 300 for the same cabin and a little more range, so on a shorter Los Angeles trip the older aircraft is often the better value.
