Why the Beechcraft King Air 260 Fits Los Angeles
Performance is identical to a King Air 250; what the 260 adds is flight-deck automation. Autothrottle and digital pressurization reduce crew workload on the busy Southern California departures and arrivals, which is a safety and consistency argument rather than a passenger-facing one.
The cabin is the same as the 250 and the 200, so for a Los Angeles group of eight into Santa Barbara, Mammoth or the Central Valley the experience is unchanged. The aircraft is simply newer.
Because it entered production in 2021 the charter fleet is small. A 250 or a 200 will usually be the aircraft actually available at short notice, and they do the same trip.
