Cessna Citation V

The Citation V is the stretched, faster answer to the Citation II and one of the more useful light jets on the Los Angeles market. Seven or eight seats, 1,750 nautical miles and a cabin that takes a full load of luggage without an argument.

Cessna built the Citation V from 1989 on a lengthened Citation II fuselage with more powerful Pratt and Whitney JT15D-5A engines. Cruise is 397 knots, seating is seven to eight, and the cabin gained a row over the aircraft it replaced. Every Cessna Citation V we arrange flies with an operator certificated under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Cessna Citation V Fits Los Angeles

Eight seats with luggage that actually fits is the reason this aircraft keeps appearing on Los Angeles group quotes. A production team out of Hollywood Burbank to Las Vegas, NV or a family to Los Cabos, Mexico both work without the baggage conversation that shortens the list on a Beechjet or a Falcon 10.

Hollywood Burbank Airport, legally Bob Hope Airport, is the field this size of jet uses most for the studio corridor. Its night curfew between 10pm and 7am is voluntary and does not bind charter, though operators plan around it out of habit and neighbourly sense.

The 1,750-nautical-mile range covers Denver, Seattle, Dallas and the Mexican resort coast from Los Angeles. Chicago and the Northeast are fuel-stop territory with a full cabin, and we say so at quote stage.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
